Professor Carwyn Rhys Hooper
Assistant Vice-President (Doctoral College)

Carwyn has worked at City St George's for almost 20 years and holds degrees in medicine, philosophy, and medical education. He also completed a PhD in Law in 2013. Carwyn’s research interests span medical ethics and law, global health ethics and law, and medical education.

Marcus Cerny
Head of Doctoral College Operations

Marcus oversees the activities of the Doctoral College and works with colleagues and services across the University in developing and implementing support for Doctoral Researchers. He also engages with colleagues from across UK Higher Education in relation to researcher support for PGR at institutional and sector level.

Mariah Loukou
Deputy Head of Doctoral College Operations (Quality)

Mariah has over a decade of experience in higher education specialising in policy, governance and quality matters. As the Deputy Head of the Doctoral College she with responsibilty for ensuring the quality of research degrees Mariah leads the development, implementation and oversight of regulations, policies and procedures governing all research degree programmes, including professional doctorates.

Malla Pratt
Head, Partnering Team

Malla leads a team delivering operational support to doctoral researchers, and academic leadership relating to school based doctoral activities, across the full student journey from application to award.

Sayeda Begum
Senior Doctoral College Officer (Services & Systems)

Sayeda is responsible for development and enhancement of university systems for doctoral research programmes. This involves identification and resolution of system issues and ensuring countinuous improvement of services. Sayeda also supports the production of accurate and timely reporting and analysis to support strategic planning and regulatory compliance.

Dr Beth Guilding
PGR Programme Coordinator

Beth completed her PhD in English at Goldsmiths in 2017 and leads on ensuring doctoral researchers have access to a comprehensive programme of personal, professional and research development opportunities. These activities support researchers through their programme and into careers across academia, industry healthcarem,public service and the professions.

Faiza Sheikh
Doctoral College Officer (The City Law School) and Quality

Faiza is a Doctoral College Officer with over a decade of experience in higher education, supporting Law PhD students throughout their research degree journey. Faiza also contributes to the Doctoral College Quality Team, supporting work that maintains high standards and a positive experience for doctoral researchers.

Abdul Momin
Doctoral College Officer (Bayes Business School)

Abdul works in Research Programmes at Bayes Business School, with over 15 years’ experience supporting doctoral programmes and students throughout their PhD journey. He works closely with students, academics and professional services colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of the PhD programmes and a positive doctoral student experience.

Kay Matan
Doctoral College Officer (Bayes Business School Executive PhD)

Kay works in Research Programmes at Bayes with primary responsiblity for supporting the innovative Executive PhD programme.

Derilyn Frusher
Doctoral College Senior Officer (School of Health and Medical Sciences)

Derilyn leads the administrative management of all Tooting postgraduate research programmes.

Tracy Rowson
Doctoral College Officer (School of Health and Medical Sciences)

Tracy Rowson is a Course Officer supporting postgraduate research programmes and doctoral students throughout their academic journey. She works closely with students and academic colleagues to ensure an effective and positive research experience.

David McNaught
Doctoral College Officer (School of Health and Medical Sciences DPsych)

David is responsible for supporting the British Psychological Society accredited professional doctorate in Counselling Psychology. This involves supporting doctoral researchers and academic colleagues in both taught and research elements of the programme.

Nathalie Chatelain
Doctoral College Officer (School of Science and Technology)

Nathalie supports the administration of doctoral researchers within Engineering, working collaboratively with academics in the School of Science & Technology and colleagues across the University. She joined City, St George’s University of London in 2005 and brings extensive experience in postgraduate research administration.

Ann Marie De Here
Doctoral College Officer (School of Science and Technology)

Ann Marie is responsible for delivering administrative support to postgraduate research students, academic staff, and professional services colleagues. She delivers administrative support across the full postgraduate research student journey from recruitment to award. In the School of Science Technology, she is the first point of contact for Computer Science, and Mathematics research students as well as visiting research students from other Universities.
