The Graduate Entry LLB (GE LLB) at The City Law School is a two-year senior status law degree designed for graduates from non-law disciplines.
Whether you studied humanities, sciences or business, this programme provides the academic foundation required for legal practice in England and Wales, while offering flexibility to explore specialist legal subjects.
First stage towards legal practice
You’ll study the seven Foundations of Legal Knowledge, including Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Equity and Trusts, alongside a wide range of elective modules such as International Commercial Arbitration, Human Rights Law, and Intellectual Property.
The programme also includes opportunities to participate in mooting competitions and legal placements, helping you build practical skills and professional networks.
Progression after the GE LLB
The GE LLB graduates benefit from exemption from the academic stage of legal training, which allows direct entry to the Solicitors’ Practice Programme (SPP) or Bar Vocational Studies (BVS). Graduates are well-prepared for careers in legal practice, policy, government, and business. Many go on to qualify as solicitors or barristers, while others pursue roles in NGOs, regulatory bodies, or further academic study.
You can choose from specialist legal subjects and take work placements during the summer recess.
You may have studied anywhere in the world previously, our GE LLB programme is especially attractive to Canadians, who will be advanced in satisfying Canadian NCA requirements upon completion of this degree.
If you intend to practise law in the UK, you can obtain an exemption from the academic stage of training over two years. This allows you to select specialist legal subjects and take work placements.
