Sport really is for everyone at City St George's, with a number of social, individual and casual sports sessions available/on offer. Whether it’s social sport or competing in the Wolfpack sporting calendar, there are always opportunities to get involved.
Social sport (CityActive)
There are plenty of Sports on offer at City St George's, which are not competitive and purely just for social. Taking time away from your studies to unwind, relax and look after your wellbeing physically is very important for overall health.
Our CityActive programme provides you with the opportunity to take part in sport without the need of being competitive or having to try out for a specific team. This is a great way to meet new friends, socialise with a group of a friends or just to take part in regular sport.
Volunteering, coaching and officiating opportunities
A lot of our Sports clubs are looking for people to get involved without having to compete. The opportunities range from report writing, social media, photographer/videographer, kit and equipment manager along with many other different ways to get involved with Sport at City St George's.
A lot of students approach us with a particular skillset or an interest to get involved with Coaching or Officiating.
There are a number of opportunities to get involved with coaching and officiating. There are training sessions and social sessions happening on a weekly basis, there are also fixtures that take place which need coaches and officials and there are opportunities to be paid! Varsity
Our annual Varsity series against the Kingston Cougars is one of the most popular in the Wolfpack sporting calendar. 36 teams compete against 10 different sports over three days of sporting action in a bid to claim the trophy.
Even if you don’t want to compete there are lots of opportunities to get involved. We have lots of volunteer opportunities including being involved in the varsity organising committee, event photography, match reporting, officiating, mascot roles, to name a few.
