The Greece Alumni Board is comprised of dedicated City St George’s, University of London and Bayes Business School graduates from across the region who work together in support and for the benefit of the University and the Greek alumni community.
The board is currently made up of a President, Vice-President and seven members. They come from a diverse range of personal, educational and professional backgrounds. They represent the broad spectrum of alumni in Greece and are all very much committed to and passionate about supporting the development of alumni engagement activities.

Maria Mavroudi (MSc Shipping, Trade and Finance, 2007 and LLM in Maritime Law, 2015) - President
About me
I am the Founder and CEO of Searock Marine Insurance Brokers, with over 20 years of experience in International shipping, advising shipowners and maritime businesses on marine insurance and risk management. Alongside my career in marine insurance, I am also active in the hospitality sector as the co-owner of Kallichoron Hotel on the beautiful island of Astypalea, an award-winning boutique hotel recognized for its authentic hospitality and commitment to sustainable tourism.
As a proud graduate of Bayes Business School and City St George's, University of London, I am honoured to serve as President of the Greece Alumni Board. Together with my fellow Board members, I am committed to strengthening the University's alumni community in Greece by fostering meaningful professional connections, supporting prospective and current students, and creating opportunities for lifelong
engagement between alumni and the University.
Together, we are committed to building a dynamic, inclusive and influential alumni network that strengthens connections between alumni, students and the University. Through strategic partnerships, impactful events, mentoring opportunities and active engagement, we aim to enhance the University's presence in Greece while establishing the Greece Alumni Board as a respected voice within the Greek business community, particularly in the shipping, maritime and hospitality sectors.

About me
I work as Press Officer at the Ministry of Justice.
As Vice President, together with the other board members of our Alumni Association we bring closer our members and further promote City St George's in Greece in cooperation with the Alumni Team in London.

Angeliki Kavouriari (LLM Maritime Law, 2016) - Secretary General
About me
I am a Greek qualified lawyer, with LL.M degree from City University London (Maritime Law) and experienced professional in Marine Insurance & Claims Handling.
Currently, I work as a Senior Claims Manager at the Legal Department of a major Greek shipping company.
The real challenge as an ambassador would be to introduce the values of the City St George's family to new candidates who intend to study at City St George's and also help them in practice after the completion of their studies.
This is the perfect opportunity to give back to City St George's and help enhance the profile of the Institution worldwide. This is of utmost importance to me, since the high level of knowledge offered by one of the most reputable institutions worldwide really assisted me in finding my first job in the maritime sector.
Taking up this role would be the ideal way to say “thank you” to all the people i.e. my professors and the staff, who were by our side from the very beginning of the LLM and encouraged us to make our dreams come true. I really hope that this role could provide me with the opportunity to assist graduates of City St George's who would be interested in finding a job here in Greece.

About me
I am an experienced Finance professional with a background in Management Consulting and broad expertise across finance. I hold an MSc in Finance from Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London, and have a strong interest in leadership, collaboration and organisational development.
I believe that a strong alumni community goes beyond staying connected — it is about sharing knowledge and experiences, supporting one another, creating opportunities and building relationships that have a lasting impact.
As Director of Alumni Engagement, I look forward to bringing my experience, ideas and energy to the role and working together to make our Alumni Community even more connected, active and impactful.

As an Alumni Ambassador, I would like to contribute to the creation of a group that shares the same values City St George's has instilled in its students. City St George's is an institution that is about more than just academia.

Paraskevi Trikalopoulou (LLM Maritime Law, 2017) - Alumni Career Opportunities Representative
About me
After having successfully passed the Bar exam, I was admitted to practice law as an Attorney with the Piraeus Bar Association. I received an honorary mention from the President of the Piraeus Bar Association for the high score in the PanHellenic Bar exam.
My experience as a postgraduate student at City St George's has ignited my interest of the position of Alumni Ambassador in my country.
The high quality of the syllabus, as well as the professors themselves inspired me to be part of this community and to contribute to the development and expansion of City St George's in my country.
I can effectively bring the alumni of City St George's together and make sure that the connection with university states equally strong in the future. I am committed to dedicate my time and efforts into building a strong and vibrant alumni community in Greece.

Dimitris Arvanitis (LLM International Energy Law and Regulation, 2012) - Board Member
After completing an LLM at The City Law School, Dimitrios is now working on his PhD thesis in risk allocation in offshore oil and gas contracts. He is also an Alumni Ambassador at City St George's for Greece.
Dimitrios' thesis examines the different functions that contracts and contracting strategies can play in the offshore oil and gas services and construction industry.
It gives a historical overview of the industry's contractual practices and focuses primarily on the ways in which innovative contracting strategies can transform (standard form) contracts into business tools that can enhance the long term sustainability and profitability of the industry. His research supervisors are Professor Jason Chuah and Dr Mauro Barelli.
Dimitrios was awarded an LL.B by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He continued his postgraduate studies at the City Law School, obtaining an LLM in International Energy Law and Regulation in 2012 - Dissertation title: "Offshore oil and gas safety: Critical elements for robust regulation with reference to the UK, US, EU and Norwegian models" (distinction).
He also holds a distance learning degree from the University of Athens in Environmental Management.
Yannis Criticos (MBA, 1993) - Board Member
After completing an MBA at the City University Business School, I worked in banking in Switzerland before returning to Greece to work in Shipping and Shipping Finance. Forty years later, I enjoy being an independent Advisor in Shipping Finance and spending my free time playing golf.
As a Board Member of the Greece Alumni Board, I would like to facilitate networking between local alumni, assist candidates for their university entry and graduates to explore job opportunities.
