The following key documents set out the constitution and decision-making structure of City St George's.
City St George's is an independent corporation, whose legal status derives from a Royal Charter originally granted in 1966.
The Royal Charter granted in 1966 has since been amended through Supplemental Charters approved in March 2006 (to give effect to a reform of governance at City), in July 2016 (to reflect City acceding to the University of London) and in March 2023 (to reflect City’s successful application for University Title) and further by an order in Council in July 2024 (to reflect the merger of City, University of London with St. George's , University of London).
A composite version of the Royal Charter under which City St George's now operates (the Supplemental Charter and Statutes of 2016 as amended by the Charter of 2024) is available.
