As well as being able to get involved in events, volunteering opportunities and the alumni community, we are pleased to offer you a range of alumni benefits.

Alumni Card

The Alumni Card for graduates of City St George's has a range of benefits

It gives you access to:

  • Northampton Square Library
  • Business Library
  • CitySport, which will allow you to have a discounted membership.

The Alumni Card expires after three years’ time from the date of issue.

To apply for a card, please fill in this form.

Please note that the Alumni Cards are for collection only. Cards can be collected from the Security Office at Northampton Square or Bunhill Row.

The Security Desks are open from 9am – 9pm on weekdays, and 10am – 5pm on weekends.

Business Services

As a City St George's graduate you can access a comprehensive range of business services from academic expertise, continuing professional development and state-of-the-art technical facilities to consultancy, technology licensing and contract research.

If you are planning to start your own business, City St George's supports our entrepreneurial students and alumni to develop and launch their business ideas.

Recruit from and with City St George's

Are you looking for a new member of staff? Why not make it a City St George's student or graduate? City St George's online vacancy portal is free of charge and a convenient way to advertise graduate vacancies, placements, internships, part-time or casual work. All City St George's students are registered to use this service. You can also reach recent graduates, up to three years after graduation.

For more information on how to use this service, please contact our careers team or sign up for free via CareersHub.

Alternatively, we can post a job ad for you to over 9,000 graduates in our LinkedIn groups. Please contact alumnicomms@city.ac.uk with the details of the vacancy, including a link to apply.

City St George's Community Legal Advice Centre

The City St George's Community Legal Advice Centre is a free, confidential, Lawworks, legal advice service offering advice to members of the public on a wide range of legal issues. It offers free legal advice on certain areas of law to people who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay.

City Launch Lab

The City Launch Lab is an incubation space for Bayes and City St George's alumni and student entrepreneurs. It offers a three month accelerator programme to kick-start you business and then for a further nine months, you can continue to access the Launch Lab to develop your business. Please contact the City Launch Lab team for more information.

City Sight

As a City St George's alumnus you are entitled to free sight tests and a discount of up to 20% off a complete pair of glasses (frames and lenses) at City Sight.

To book your appointment please call 020 7040 8338 or email citysight@city.ac.uk. Please note appointments are only available during term time.

CitySport

CitySport is our sport and fitness centre featuring state-of-the-art gym equipment.

Alumni, who have a valid alumni card, can save 20%, with a discounted membership of £28 per month (for a year's monthly direct debit membership). Paying for a year's membership upfront gives alumni 12 months for the price of 10 (£280).

CitySport features:

  • 120 new fitness stations delivered in partnership with Matrix Fitness
  • A free weight area
  • Olympic-sized courts for a variety of team, solo and class sports.

Graduate Loyalty Discount

We offer a loyalty discount of 20% on tuition fees to our graduates and current students when applying for one of over 150 postgraduate courses at City St George's.

The Graduate Loyalty Discount can not be applied to our Professional development courses or City Health courses. The discount also does not apply to postgraduate pre-registration courses, postgraduate certificates or postgraduate diplomas in the School of Health & Psychological Sciences. The STEM Digital Academy offers a 10% Graduate Loyalty discount.

Our graduate loyalty discount is an institution-wide initiative that extends across all Schools.

If you are applying for a postgraduate research degree you will benefit from a discount of 20% on the full cost of your tuition fees.

The City Law School, the School of Communication & Creativity, the School of Policy & Global Affairs, the School of Health & Medical Sciences and the School of Science & Technology offer the Graduate Loyalty Discount in addition to any scholarship students may benefit from (subject to the terms and conditions of specific schemes).

For Bayes Business School, we regret that this scheme cannot be used in conjunction with any other sponsorship, scholarship or bursary scheme or by students financed by their employer.

Please note that the discount can only be applied to tuition fees and cannot be used to cover any other course-related expenses (e.g. residential costs, materials or membership fees).

Eligibility

To be eligible for the graduate loyalty discount you must have successfully completed one of the following at legacy City or legacy St George's:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Postgraduate degree
  • A period of study as a study abroad Student or Erasmus+ exchange student.

Please note the discount does not apply to students who have completed any of our short courses.

How to apply

To apply you will need to be accepted into your intended course of study and to meet all the normal academic admissions criteria for the relevant course at City St George's, University of London.

At the point of application you are required to inform the Admissions Office that you are a City St George’s, University of London graduate or that you graduated from City, University of London or St George’s, University of London prior to the University’s merger in 2024. No additional documentation should be required. If you are accepted into the course and successfully enrol, your invoice for fees will then be reduced by the appropriate amount.

Graduate Loyalty Discount for Short Courses

City St George's alumni benefit from 25% off all short courses. The University’s short courses are taught by industry experts in small, live classes designed to fit around busy lives.

Pay in full when booking and then tell shortcourses@city.ac.uk that you have completed a degree at City St George’s. Once they have verified your status, you will receive a 25% refund. Explore the available Short Courses.

Library access and electronic resources

With an alumni card, you can access:

  • Northampton Square Library
  • Business Library
  • Law Library.

If you would like to borrow any books you will need to complete the alumni library registration online form.
Please note there is a charge for this service.

Senate House Library

Alumni who graduated from 2016 onwards have access to the Library at Senate House for private study and non-commercial research only. You must pay the alumni membership rate and will need to show a valid alumni card when applying to the Library for the first time. You will also be asked to provide your degree certificate on your first visit.

Electronic resources

Remote electronic resources

For access to:

  • Business Source Premier (Alumni Edition)
  • Refworks - Only available to alumni who graduated from 2013 onwards.

Please log in or register to access the electronic resources. Please note it may take up to 5 working days to process a new sign-up request. 

If you are a Bayes alumnus, please follow the instructions on the Bayes Alumni website.

Please note an alumni card is not required to access remote electronic resources (Business Source Premier Alumni Edition and Refworks).

Electronic resources on campus

You may use the 'walk-in' service, to access specific electronic databases at the Northampton Square Library and the Business Library. This access is currently only available on one computer at each site. If you have any queries please email e-access@city.ac.uk.

Please note that if you would like to access the electronic resources at the Business Library you need to book the computer in advance by calling +44 (0)207 040 8787.

Computers in the library

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer access to computers or printing facilities in the library. However, you can access the Wi-Fi connection as a guest, on your own device, by requesting a password from the Library Help Desk.

City St George's research online

Research produced by City St George's academics and research students, including journal articles, conference papers, books and doctoral theses, are available online at openaccess.city.ac.uk.

Campus Clothing will be selling a range of personalised t-shirts and hoodies, printed with your name and those of your fellow classmates on the back. To order your merchandise, please visit the Campus Clothing website.

Official City St George's, University of London graduation jewellery will be on offer from Annotated Studios. Individually crafted, each piece is designed to be as personal as your time at City St George's, blending your individual accomplishment with the history of your institution.
