If you think you might apply to us through Clearing later this summer, you may still want to read the information on this page now to ensure you can be ready when the time comes to make your application.
Be prepared and have your information ready
Asides from knowing which of our open courses you want to apply for, you should ensure you have the following personal details to hand as you'll need to provide them during your application:
- Your UCAS Personal ID number
- Your full contact details including address and postcode, email, and mobile number
- Your confirmed qualifications and grades, including any of the following that may apply:
- Level 3 qualifications (A-level, BTEC, International Baccalaureate, Access to HE Diploma etc)
- Level 2 qualifications (GCSE etc)
- UCAT score and candidate ID, for Medicine applications where applicable
- Degree results, if you are applying as a graduate
- Any other academic qualifications relevant to your application; our course pages state relevant qualifications for standard year entry, while we also list our accepted international equivalences.
In addition, you should also make the following preparations:
- Make sure you have access to your email and your phone close by. We may need to contact you about your application during the process, and may not be able to confirm your offer if we cannot reach you.
- If you are offered an interview as part of the selection process for your chosen course, you will need a quiet space to conduct the interview.
How to apply
On results day, check your application status on the UCAS Hub.
If you have entered into Clearing, then your UCAS application will be updated and will either say that 'you are in Clearing' or 'Clearing has started'. If you wish to enter Clearing voluntarily, by declining any offers you hold, you can do this via the self-release feature on your UCAS account.
When Clearing is open, access to our online application web form will be available and you will be able to apply.
You must submit confirmed results in order to make an application; if your results are not verified you will not be offered a place.
The process of completing the online application form may be different depending on the course you're applying for.
Getting support with your application
If you have any questions about making your online Clearing application during the week of A-level results day, our Clearing Specialist Team will be available to help guide you through the process and answer anything else you may want to ask about City St George's.
We can help you with:
- Questions about completing the online application
- More information about what our courses are like
- What to expect from student life at City St George's
- Details of services on offer at the University.
Getting a decision
Once you have completed the online application form, either:
- You will receive an instant decision
- You will be given a phone number to contact us to discuss your application in more detail
- For School of Health & Medical Sciences courses at our Tooting campus, we will contact you by via phone or email within one working day.
Any further actions you will need to take will be made clear to you when you complete the form.
Though the online form is available for you to apply at any time, our Admissions teams will only be available to process your application or respond to contact during office opening times.
You can also use any phone or email conversations with us as an opportunity to find out more about the course and City St George's, University of London.
Being offered and accepting a place
Once you’ve been given a verbal offer, we may have to conduct some final checks on your application to formalise this. You should not add us a Clearing Choice on UCAS until we ask you to do so. If you add us as your Clearing choice too early, it may slow down the processing of your application.
Once we ask you to do so, you can add us as a Clearing Choice through the UCAS Hub. If you are awaiting A Level or BTEC results, you will not be able to add us as a Clearing Choice until 1pm on 14 August. Once we ask you to do so, you should then log on to your UCAS account and click the button ‘Add Clearing choice’.
This will allow you to add the course and institution information to your application, before it's then sent to us. For most courses, the institution code will be C60, but for School of Health & Medical Sciences courses at the Tooting campus the institution code will be S49.
Once you confirm your Clearing choice on UCAS, we should then be able to finalise your application and your UCAS status will be updated to say that you have been accepted.
Once we accept your application, check your stated entry year. For School of Health & Medical Sciences courses at the Tooting campus, you may be offered a place for 2027 entry and added to a waiting list for 2026 if your chosen course has become oversubscribed. We may be able to move you into the 2026 intake if more places become available later or other applicants withdraw, but this is not guaranteed and you can choose to use the self-release feature in your UCAS account to withdraw from your 2027 offer and re-enter Clearing.
Ensure you follow any instructions given in any offer emails or confirmation letters received from us carefully. You should only add your Clearing choice on the UCAS Hub when instructed in our offer to do so; requests from us for additional information to your application or invitations to interview do not by themselves constitute an offer to study.
Looking forward to starting
Once you've secured your place at City St George's, we'll be in touch with a number of opportunities to find out more about studying and student life with us before you start in September.
These opportunities include events like exclusive online chat sessions for applicants, future campus tours and our Clearing Information Day. Beyond that, you can look forward to receiving information about registration and the start of the new term here in the heart of London.
