We’re here to help you find somewhere to call home while you study with us. Our halls are affordable, close to our campuses, and places are guaranteed for students who meet the criteria and application deadline. If you’re looking for accommodation in the private sector, you’ll have plenty of choices too.

Why choose halls

As a student at City St George's, you can choose from a wide range of University accommodation. Whether you’re based at Clerkenwell, Moorgate or Tooting, most halls are within walking distance of lectures, classes and laboratories. Living in halls, you’ll become part of a diverse community of people from different backgrounds.

Our Guarantee Scheme for first year undergraduates means you are assured of a room in halls if you meet the criteria and the deadline. We invest heavily in subsidies on undergraduate rents to keep your costs low.

Halls near Clerkenwell

Pick from a range of halls near Clerkenwell campus. All are within walking distance or a short journey on public transport. We have options for undergraduate students, postgraduate students and continuing students, with a variety of living arrangements available.

Halls near Tooting

Horton Halls is the closest accommodation to our Tooting campus. We have 332 rooms with a single bed and 154 rooms with a small double bed. First year students are prioritised for Horton Halls, with students in subsequent years expected to find somewhere to live in the private rental sector.

We also prioritise first-year graduate students on full-time taught postgraduate programmes (including Graduate Entry Medicine) if they apply by the deadline and haven't studied at undergraduate level in London before.

If you're looking for accommodation while on elective, we have one flat of six bedrooms reserved for elective students. Accommodation is only available to students who apply through the official scheme and have received written confirmation of their placement.

Horton Halls applications 2026/27

Applications for Horton Halls accommodation are now open. We will contact all applicants to make them aware.

As applications opened later than usual this year, the new deadline for a guaranteed room is 3 August 2026.. If you are a new student in 2026/27 and you submit your application for Horton Halls by that deadline, you will be guaranteed a room. Please be assured, we do currently have accommodation available, and applications will remain open throughout the summer, so we hope to offer rooms even if you apply after this date.

If you have a conditional offer to study at City St George’s, you should expect to receive your room offer in August (for most students this is after A Level Results are released).

If you have any further queries, please contact the Accommodation Team on tootingaccommodation@citystgeorges.ac.uk. We are experiencing a large number of enquiries, so we may take longer to respond than usual.

Why choose private accommodation?

If you prefer the idea of private accommodation or missed the deadline for guaranteed accommodation, you are in the right place – there is a huge choice of rooms, flats and houses. There are also private halls of residence near our Tooting campus. Many of our students start their search by finding new flatmates to buddy up with and find shared housing in the local and surrounding areas.
