Creatives in Residence
Are you a young musician looking for room to practice and perform? A writer who needs a base to work from and a network of contacts? A performer looking for a stage to deliver on? Then the School of Communication and Creativity would love to hear from you.
We are a vibrant learning community with excellent links to industry. Our school includes three world-class departments: Performing Arts - including Music and Urdang (dance and musical theatre); Journalism; and Media, Culture & Creative Industries.
Following the first successful year of our Creatives in Residence programme, we want to support and nurture the talent of a new intake of young creatives, facilitating their work alongside our staff and students.

Podcaster in Residence
The School of Communication & Creativity runs the Podcaster in Residence scheme.
Are you a young podcaster looking for professional studios to record and edit your work? Do you want to join a vibrant community where creatives, students and industry meet to talk about the art and business of podcasting? Then the School of Communication and Creativity would love to hear from you.
Our school includes three world-class departments: Journalism; Media, Culture & Creative Industries; and Performing Arts. The School recently launched the UK’s first dedicated MA in Podcasting. It is home to the Centre for Podcasting Excellence, which hosts numerous industry-facing talks and events throughout the year.

Practitioners in Residence
The School of Policy & Global Affairs runs the Practitioners in Residences Scheme.
This three month residency programme provides a platform for policy practitioners to grow and explore their practice, and for School of Policy & Global Affairs (SPGA) students and staff to connect and engage with external stakeholders.
The PinR scheme is open to both early career and mid-career/senior policy practitioners.
Applications open on Monday 6th July 2026 for residencies commencing in October 2026.
