Attracting and retaining consumers is key for brand growth, however, in an online era where consumers are presented with a variety of options to spend their time and money, audience attention is scarce. Understanding the cognitive mechanisms that dictate how consumers act and react can provide a useful starting point for grabbing their attention.
Dr Ayesha Taylor-Camara, Lecturer in Media and Marketing Analytics, will lead a taster session that explores how principles from cognitive psychology, behavioural science, and consumer motivation theories provide a useful framework for building marketing strategies that elicit audience attention and drive purchasing decisions.
This session showcases the types of media industry practices we explore on our MA Media and Marketing programmes that provide you with the knowledge and practical skills for developing a career within the media, culture and creative industries.
The session features content which is currently offered to students in the MA Media & Communications, MA Marketing Communications, MA Public Relations and Strategic Communications and MA Fashion Marketing and Strategic Communications programmes, and which will be relevant to students in the MA Media Management and MA Culture, Policy and Management programme as well. At the end of the session, you’ll also have the opportunity to find out more and ask questions about our different MA Media and Marketing programmes at City St Georges.
Attendance at City St George's events is subject to our terms and conditions.
