Eight fully funded PhD studentships are being offered with Diverse CDT (The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Diversity in Data Visualization), starting October 2026.

Diverse CDT is looking for PhD researchers who are curious and excited about the power of data and potential for visualization in understanding and communicating data.
Students will be based either at City St George’s Clerkenwell Campus or the University of Warwick. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Eligibility
PhD students need not have completed a previous degree on data visualization to apply.
Certain perspectives and experiences are currently under-represented in data visualization. Diverse CDT aims to help redress the balance. We welcome applications from all, but particularly encourage applications from people who meet one or more of the following:
- identify as female
- from Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, and
- from low-income backgrounds or areas experiencing high levels of deprivation.
Funding
Diverse CDT believes that finance shouldn't be a barrier to delivering world-leading research, so these scholarships include a stipend to cover living expenses for the duration of the PhD, plus all fees paid, and a top-spec laptop for the duration of studies.
