Clarinetist Heather Roche is joined by composer-performer Pierre Alexandre Tremblay in a programme of music for clarinet, bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet, surround-sound electronics and video. Music by Tremblay, Amber Priestley and Eden Lonsdale explores poetic imagery, playful approaches to musical material and the multitudinous timbral possibilities of the instrument. This concert utilises City St George's SPARC Lab suite of technologies for immersive sound.

About Heather Roche
Referred to as “The Queen of Multiphonics" on BBC Radio 3, clarinetist Heather Roche appears regularly on concert stages around the world as a soloist and chamber musician. She plays with Apartment House, in a duo with accordionist Eva Zöllner and works regularly with other groups including Riot Ensemble and the LSO. Chamber music and close collaboration with composers are her jam. She has solo CDs on NMC and Métier, and records regularly for the Another Timbre label, currently appearing on over 35 albums. She is also the clarinet tutor for the Darmstadt Summer Course, and the creator of a new app for deep diving into the world of clarinet multiphonics.
About Pierre Alexandre Tremblay
Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (Montréal, 1975) is a composer and performer on bass guitar and electronic devices, in solo and group settings, between electroacoustic music, contemporary jazz, mixed music, and improvised music. He also worked in popular music, and enjoys creative coding. His music is available on empreintes DIGITALes. He was Professor of Composition and Improvisation at the University of Huddersfield (UK) from 2005, and in 2024, he joined the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana (CH) as a research professor in composition.
