Call for Posters 2026 City St George's Food Policy Symposium
Are you an MSc student, PhD researcher or Early Career Researcher working on food systems, food retail, or convenience‑store–focused issues? Do you want to showcase your research and connect with practitioners, policymakers and fellow scholars at a leading food systems symposium?
If so, we invite you to submit a poster proposal for the 2026 City St George’s Food Policy Symposium, taking place on June 11th, 2026, at City St George’s, University of London in Clerkenwell, London, UK. This year’s symposium, Healthy, Sustainable and Profitable Retailing – Identifying Food Policy and Market Opportunities for the Convenience Store Sector, explores how policy and market drivers can redefine the convenience store offer to support economic, health and environmental co‑benefits.
Drawing on insights from researchers, retailers, suppliers, public health professionals and policymakers, the symposium will examine how convenience stores can act not only as community cornerstones but also as key contributors to food systems transformation.

- Market and economic opportunities for convenience store owners in expanding healthy, environmentally sustainable retail offerings
- Supply chain dynamics and the drivers of unhealthy, environmentally unsustainable product availability
- Commercially viable policy interventions to support increased provision of healthy, environmentally sustainable food and drink
- Pathways for connecting local and environmentally sustainably produced foods to convenience stores across UK regions
- Understanding convenience store customer needs and shopping behaviours, particularly for populations at risk of poor diet

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by May 22nd, 2026. If accepted, you will be asked to produce:
- A physical A1 landscape poster for display at the symposium
- A digital copy emailed to foodpolicy@city.ac.uk by June 5th, 2026
Accepted abstracts and posters will be uploaded to Figshare and assigned a DOI (CC‑BY‑4.0 licence), making them searchable and shareable in the public domain.
