What makes the Global Health MRes/MSc/PgDip/PgCert special?
This course stands out for its flexibility, depth and global reach. You can begin at PgCert or PgDip level and later progress to the full MSc or MRes. You will spend four to eight months on a substantial research project alongside leading academics, with many students seeing their work published. Fieldwork abroad is also possible, and past projects have taken place in countries such as Cambodia and Sierra Leone.
Who is the course for?
The course suits recent graduates and professionals in development, policy, education, research, humanitarian relief, healthcare, or related fields like economics, anthropology, or ethics who want to deepen their health expertise.
Who is the presenter?
Dr Alison is a Senior Lecturer in Global Health at City St George's. She is an interdisciplinary social scientist with training in Social Anthropology and Public Health from the University of Cape Town. She conducts qualitative research on a range of topics including adolescent fertility, sexuality, and gender identity, migration and refugees, HIV, TB and digital health, predominantly in South and southern Africa. She is currently acting co-director of the MSc in Global Health Course, and supports teaching on a range of modules at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
Attending the webinar
To attend the webinar, you will need an internet connection for the device you're using, ideally a computer or laptop to view the event, and speakers or headphones to listen in to the event. Attendees will be able to type in questions to submit during the event, but will not be able to share a webcam or speak to other attendees (so you won't need a webcam or a microphone).
