After eight years away from competing with a fully built Formula Student car, City St George’s Racing returned to the legendary Silverstone Circuit this summer for Formula Student UK 2026.

Organised by the IMechE, Formula Student is Europe's leading educational motorsport competition, bringing together more than a hundred university teams from around the world to design, build, and race their own single-seat race cars while showcasing engineering excellence, innovation, and business skill.

Competing at the Silverstone Circuit, which hosted the first-ever World Championship Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1950, our City St George’s Racing team members relished the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a prestigious, real-world engineering environment, all while developing the professional skills that will shape their future careers.

From the first design concepts to manufacturing, assembly, and testing, every component of the City St Geoge’s Racing car reflects countless hours of dedication from students from across the School of Science & Technology, City St George’s, University of London.

Whether developing the vehicle's electrical architecture, designing mechanical components, optimising performance, managing sponsorships and media, or creating the software that brings everything together, every member played a vital role in bringing City St George's Racing back to the Formula Student grid.
