The university’s strength in supporting students to get great jobs has been recognised in the Complete University Guide 2026

City St George’s, University of London has been ranked among the top 20 universities in the UK for employability in the Complete University Guide (CUG) 2026, highlighting the university’s strategic commitment to preparing students for the world of work.
This is the first major UK league table to feature City St George’s as a merged institution, following the union of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London in August 2024. The ranking reflects the combined strength of both institutions in delivering career-focused education and strong graduate outcomes.
City St George’s, University of London was ranked:
- 13th for Graduate Prospects ‘outcomes’ – this measures the success of graduates in securing employment or further study after completing their first degree. In turn, this shows that their university has helped to prepare them for successful and fulfilling careers.
- 18th for Graduate Prospects ‘on track’ – this measure indicates the proportion of graduates who believe their current activity aligns with their plans. It means they are confident they are on the path to success.

Research Quality
The new ranking also highlights City St George’s research quality, with the University being placed 36th in this measure following strong performances in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.
Overall, City St George’s, University of London was ranked 53rd in UK by the Complete University Guide 2026.
Subject level highlights
- Communication & Media Studies is 1st in London and 10th in the UK (out of 92 providers)
- Accounting & Finance is 2nd in London and 10th in the UK (out of 102 providers)
- Business & Management Studies is 4th in London and13th in the UK (out of 123 providers). It is also ranked 2nd nationally on the research quality metric.
- Paramedic Science moved up five places to 16th in the UK (out of 43 providers)
For employability related measures (both Graduate Prospects outcomes and Graduate Prospects on Track), City St George’s has six subject areas in the top 10 nationally:
- Communication & Media Studies is 1st in the UK for Graduate Prospects on track
- Opthalmics is 4th in the UK for Graduate Prospects on track
- Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy (6th)
- Physiotherapy (7th)
- Business and Management Studies (7th)
- Biomedical Sciences (9th)

The main Complete University Guide league table includes 130 institutions and is based on ten measures: entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, academic services spend, spending on student facilities, continuation, student-staff ratio, outcomes, and graduate prospects on track (a measure of whether recent graduates agree that their current activity aligns with their future plans).
