City St George’s, University of London strengthens commitment to graduate success with new lifelong careers service

The Careers & Employability team at City St George’s, University of London (Clerkenwell campus) has announced a significant enhancement to its employability offer: lifetime careers support for all graduates.

From navigating job searching for the first time to pivoting careers, to exploring postgraduate study - alumni will now have ongoing access to expert guidance from the University’s Careers & Employability Service no matter what year they graduated.

This offer also brings the service into line with the existing offer for graduates from the Tooting campus and postgraduate programmes offered by Bayes Business School. “This is about more than just getting that first job,” said Helen Kempster, Deputy Director of Careers & Employability at City St George’s.

We’re equipping our graduates with the tools, advice and confidence they need at every stage of their professional lives. Whether it's five months or fifteen years after graduation, we're here to help.

The new lifetime offer includes:

  • One-to-one career consultations
  • Access to employer events
  • CV and application support
  • Interview preparation
  • Career change and re-skilling guidance

Graduate Careers Consultant, Charlotte Brown, supports alumni in their career journeys as part of the service. On her role, she said:

“I’ve always been passionate about helping people realise their potential. Becoming a Graduate Careers Consultant has allowed me to combine that passion with my interest in education, psychology, and the world of work. It’s normal for alumni to arrive at our appointments or workshops feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck. It’s incredibly rewarding to support someone in finding clarity, building confidence, and achieving their goals, especially as those goals evolve over time.” Charlotte said even experienced professionals can hit a crossroads and benefit from additional support.

Whether you’re aiming for a promotion, considering a career change, or returning to work after a break, I can help you reflect on your experience, identify your transferable skills and strengths, and develop a strategy to move forward. Sometimes, just having a sounding board and speaking with someone who is non-judgmental, kind and objective can make all the difference.

Graduates from Clerkenwell campus can access the new service immediately by visiting CareersHub.  They can also contact careers@citystgeorges@sgul.ac.uk
