Hosted by The Canadian & American Law Society at City on Wednesday 21 February, the primary goal of the event was to engage students in the practical application of legal thinking processes through an interactive mock litigation case workshop, immersing attendees in the field of law.
The audience was welcomed in an introduction by Professor Stuart Sime, Head of Department, Academic Programmes, and then entered into an interactive workshop with guest speaker, Megan Catli, a City GDL 2015 alumna, and an English and New York dual-qualified associate in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, practicing in the firm’s Dispute Resolution Group.
Megan specialises in commercial litigation and advises clients on a broad range of complex, high-value and strategically significant disputes, often with a cross border element. She has acted for clients across a wide spectrum of industries, including aviation, media, pharmaceutical and financial services. Megan is recognised by The Legal 500 UK 2024 for Regulatory Investigations and Corporate Crime. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Megan trained and practiced for four years in the London office of a Magic Circle law firm.
The interactive session was followed by a Q&A fielded by Megan, and which included pre-submitted, anonymous attendee questions.
