Professor Nabil Aouf led the inaugural conference with world-renowned experts sharing their insight.

On Friday 26 January, Professor of Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Nabil Aouf, led the first City Conference on Robotics and Autonomous Systems held at the School of Science & Technology.
Speakers at the conference included City's Vice President (Research) Professor Leanne Aitken, who introduced the conference with Professor Rajkumar Roy, Executive Dean of the School.
The audience then heard from a wide range of world-renowned experts delivering their keynote speeches, including Professor Aouf himself and:
- Professor Etienne Burdet, Head of the Human Robotics Group at Imperial College London
- Professor Helge Wurdemann, Head of the Soft Haptics and Robotics Lab at University College of London
- Dr Abdderahmane Kheddar, Director of Research at CNRS
- Barry Lennox, Professor of Applied Control and Nuclear Engineering Decommissioning, University of Manchester
- Tony Prescott, Professor of Cognitive Robotics at the University of Sheffield
- Dr Larry Matthies, Senior Research Scientist at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Caltech and Technology Coordinator for the Mars Exploration Program office at JPL
- Ferdinando Rodriguez y Baena, Professor of Medical Robotics, Applied Mechanics Division Head and Hamlyn Centre Co-Director at Imperial College London.
