This is a recurring event: View all events in the series “Primary Care Seminar Series”
This seminar will look at how research and patient advocacy allowed a misunderstood and neglected condition to acquire a new name and clinical guidelines.
For this seminar, we will be joined by Professor Judith Ibison who will be discussing inequalities in healthcare provision for women and the recent changes we are seeing using PMOS as an example
Judith Ibison is a London GP and Professor of Primary Care Education with research interests in women’s health and medical education. She has worked with Verity, the charity supporting women with Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (formerly known as Polycystic ovarian syndrome) and has recently been involved in the James Lind research priority setting exercise, and a committee member on the NICE guideline committing adapting the International guidance on PMOS for the UK.
