Research Day is an annual event held at City St George's to showcase the world class research done in the School of Health & Medical Sciences.
The School of Health & Medical Sciences (SHMS) Research Day will take place on Wednesday 27 January 2027 at the Clerkenwell campus.
About the event
Research Day provides an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the world-class research undertaken across SHMS over the past year, while bringing together researchers from both campuses to share ideas, build connections, and learn more about the work being delivered through our research centres, institutes, and groups.
This year’s event will also mark the launch of the SHMS Research Strategy, Transforming Lives: From Discovery to Delivery, setting out our shared vision for advancing research excellence and delivering real-world impact. The day will highlight the breadth and depth of research across SHMS and foster collaboration across disciplines and campuses.
Please register here to attend the event.
Poster abstract submissions
Poster presentations remain an important part of SHMS Research Day and provide an opportunity for staff and students to present their research.
This year, the poster programme will follow a revised format. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and assessed in advance of the event by a judging panel. Authors of shortlisted abstracts will be invited to present their posters on the day, with presentations forming part of the judging process and award competition.
To submit a research abstract, please register and submit here by 9am on Monday 16 November 2026.
Poster award categories include:
- Chrissie Fenske Research poster prize for best poster (Staff/student): £1000 to spend toward a conference place or research specific training
