About the speaker
Tinghua Yu is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London, and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
She uses formal theory and quantitative methods to study the political economy of institutions and development, with a focus on political selection, intrinsic motivation and authoritarian politics.
Her recent work has covered, among others, accountability and learning with motivated agents, intrinsic motivation and innovation, polarization and political selection, and propaganda.
