Speaker: James Lupton, Chief Technology Officer at Cynozure
Format: Interactive workshop and collaborative card game
How can organisations move beyond AI experimentation and turn artificial intelligence into scalable business value?
Join us for an engaging and practical Data Bites session led by James Lupton, Chief Technology Officer at Cynozure, featuring a collaborative card game designed to help participants explore how organisations can approach AI delivery in practice.
In this interactive session, students will work in groups to build their approach to delivering AI within an organisation. Using a combination of AI capability and use-case cards, teams will discuss opportunities, assess potential value, and decide whether each card belongs in the Now, Next or Future category.
As the game progresses, participants will explore the practical challenges of scaling AI, including:
- Identifying where AI could create the greatest value.
- Assessing organisational capabilities, dependencies and readiness.
- Considering risks, governance and ways of working.
- Making trade-offs and prioritising AI initiatives.
- Understanding what needs to be in place to move from experimentation to sustainable business value.
The session will conclude with a group playback of the key themes, priorities and observations that emerge from the discussions.
This hands-on experience offers MSc Data Science students an opportunity to engage with the realities of AI implementation, explore strategic decision-making, and gain insights into how data and AI can be translated into meaningful organisational outcomes.
