We are pleased to invite you to City St George's for the STEM Alumni Awards Ceremony 2026. This year's edition will feature a panel discussion on the theme of ‘Engineering a Sustainable Future: The STEM behind Net Zero’, chaired by Professor Richard Curran, Professor of Aviation Management at City St George's. Our expert panellists work across aviation, energy, advanced engineering, and cybersecurity. The conversation will explore where the hard problems lie in reaching net zero, and how the next generation of STEM graduates can help solve them. This will be followed by a Q&A, where you are invited to pose your own questions to the panel and share your views.
The evening will also include the presentation of the STEM Alumni Awards to honour those who are making an outstanding impact.
The 2026 award winners are:
- Distinguished STEM Alumni Award: Giancarlo Buono FRAes (MSc Air Transport Management, 2001)
- Distinguished STEM Alumni Award: Professor Robert Wood FREng (BSc Mechanical Engineering, 1982)
- Excellence in STEM Achievement Award: Dr Marco Edoardo Rosti (PhD Aeronautical Engineering, 2016)
- Excellence in STEM Achievement Award: Rishi Preetam Thiruthani (MSc Cyber Security, 2022)
Hosted by Professor Bashar Nuseibeh, Executive Dean of the School of Science & Technology, this event provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of this year's award recipients, network with alumni and leading academic and professional experts, and gain invaluable insight into the field of sustainability and STEM behind net zero.
