For this seminar, we will be joined by Dr David Mummery and Dr Sapna Agrawal who will be discussing the ethics, practicalities and research around weight management medications in primary care.
Dr David Mummery is a GP in Clapham in South London. He is an honorary research fellow of the Department of Primary Care and Public Health at Imperial College London, and chair of the RCGP Ethics Committee.
Dr Sapna Agrawal is a dedicated NHS GP based in the West Midlands and the RCGP First5 Medical Ethics Representative. She is committed to advancing fair and inclusive workplace practices, advocating for a healthy work-life balance, and supporting colleagues facing health challenges. She is also passionate about helping healthcare professionals navigate the complexities of medical law, promoting well-being, and preventing burnout across the profession.
Dr Agrawal holds membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners, a Diploma in Dermatology, and membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She previously served as Chair of the West Midlands RCGP Trainee Committee and as the RCGP National Trainee Learning Lead.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr Agrawal directed a dance video encouraging members of the South Asian community to embrace fitness through dance. She has also contributed to workshops on embedding diversity and inclusion within the updated Good Medical Practice guidance.
About the Primary Care Seminar Series: The Future of Primary Care
We are pleased to welcome back this year's Primary Care Seminar Series offering an innovative online educational experience for medical students and other clinical learners who are interested in issues affecting primary care. The seminars are open to all students and faculty at City St George’s as well as those from other national and international schools.
The seminar series will run every month aiming to cover hot topics driving the future of primary care, whilst inspiring interest and shedding light on diverse career paths, with a specific focus on academic opportunities in primary care.
