Celebrate Pride Month with SHMS: Film Screening and Live Q&A

We will be screening Out Laws, a film directed by Lexi Powner and James Lewis, and presented by The Good Side production company.

Pride takes place each year in June and is a time to celebrate the strength, love, and resilience of LGBTQI+ communities around the world. Within this SHMS event we invite staff, students and friends to listen and discuss this important aspect of equity and inclusion.

Please note, all attendees must register to attend.

This powerful and thought‑provoking film will be followed by an exclusive live Q&A with the directors and members of the cast.

Out Laws - Criminalised for love. Fighting back with Pride

Out Laws follows three queer activists challenging the laws that criminalise them. From the UK to Namibia, the film reveals how colonial rule entrenched homophobia around the world. Amid rising murders, court battles, church-led backlash and coordinated disinformation campaigns, Out Laws captures a global movement fighting not only for justice, but for survival.
