What is Festival of the Professions?
Previously started by the School of Policy & Global Affairs, City St George's has organised the 'Festival of the Professions' across the University.
Throughout February and early March, there will be a collection of employer events collaborated on by Schools and Professional Services highlighting our alignment to Business, Practice and the Professions.
Alongside planned activities by Schools, students can explore a variety of events below. Whilst some may be for particular cohorts, we encourage students to participate and make the most of the Festival.

Wednesday 4 February
Diagnostic Radiography Careers Day (& Fair)

Demo Night

Five start-ups take the stage to deliver five-minute demos, with live feedback from founders, investors, and industry experts, followed by networking.
The Sociology and Criminology Networking Event

- Open to: Year 2 and Year 3 Sociology and Crim students only
The event will be a space to practice and build your networking skills, with relevant employers from Sociological and Criminological related professions will be in attendance. You will have a chance to mingle and discuss career pathways, ask about work in government, the third sector, education and others.

Citizens Advice will be holding a guest talk to share with students what they do and how students can get involved.
School of Communication and Creativity Futures Fair

This event will bring in individuals from targeted creative industries companies to talk with students about their work with their companies and more widely in their sectors. It will be a roundtable event allowing for Q&A interaction in small groups. There will be a professional headshot photographer (Journalism grad) to take student headshots.

MSc Actuarial Science 40th Anniversary: Shaping Tomorrow's Actuary, an Insight and Look Ahead

This year marks 40 years of the MSc Actuarial Science at Bayes Business School. Since 1985, the programme has supported generations of students who have gone on to make an impact across the global actuarial profession. In this event will aim to honour this, our community, and the future of actuarial science.

The LinkedIn Experience Centre visit

Join us for an exciting visit to the LinkedIn experience centre at their head office in Farringdon where you will hear from Tunji Akintokun, a Senior director at LinkedIn, who will share his journey into his role and how you can leverage LinkedIn and LinkedIn learning for your studies and professional lives. There will then be free refreshments and an opportunity for you to network with other LinkedIn colleagues from their BIG (Black Inclusion Group) after the session.

International Women’s Day 2026: “Give to Gain – Empowering Future-Ready Professionals" is a full-day employability-focused event hosted by Women++, in collaboration with London ACM-W Chapter, and IEEE UK & Ireland Computer Society at City St George’s, University of London. We aim to include both staff and students in all departments in the School of Science and Technology.
