Join us for the Faculty of Management Annual Dean’s Lecture at Bayes Business School, featuring an intimate and in-depth fireside chat between Martin Gilbert and Dr Robin Bagchi.
Martin Gilbert is one of the UK’s most established entrepreneurs and business leaders. Co-founder of Aberdeen Asset Management and FirstGroup, former Chairman of Sky, and current Chair of Revolut and Toscafund, Martin also serves on the boards of Glencore and the London Technology Club. Named by Harvard Business Review as one of the world’s top 25 best-performing CEOs, he brings decades of experience building and leading global organisations through both growth and uncertainty.
The conversation will be hosted by Dr Robin Bagchi, Honorary Visiting Professor at Bayes, Chairman of the London Technology Club, and a veteran of 30+ years in investment banking, private markets, venture capital, and entrepreneurship.
Together, they will explore the leadership mindsets and strategic decisions that sustain success in an unpredictable world - with time for audience Q&A.

Martin Gilbert is Chairman of Revolut, the global neobank and financial technology company and Executive Chairman of River Global
PLC, a boutique asset manager. He co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983, which grew to become one of the world's leading independent asset managers. He is NED at Glencore. Previously, Martin was chair of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority’s Practitioner Panel. Martin is a chartered accountant, holding an LLB from the University of Aberdeen and an MA in accountancy.

Dr Robin Bagchi, CFA has worked in the financial markets for over 30 years, across
London and New York, combining experience as both an entrepreneur and senior executive in investment banking, private markets, and venture capital. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and went on to lead the equity divisions of several banks before becoming CEO of a private equity firm and later moving into venture capital.
He is currently Chairman of the London Technology Club, a venture fund and exclusive membership community focused on technology investing.
Robin’s multidisciplinary academic background includes the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and law degrees from the London School of Economics (LLB) and Harvard Law School (LLM) , where he was a Fulbright Scholar. He also holds a PhD in Psychology from City St George’s, University of London.
Robin is an Honorary Visiting Professor of Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London.
