Speaker: Alex de Giorgio, co-founder of Sable Bio
Abstract
Many (possibly most!) individual research findings fail to replicate. Yet the biomedical literature remains an enormous resource to understand relationships between key entities, including diseases, genes, and biological mechanisms.
We'll look at methods we can use to understand causality in the scientific literature to predict relationship importance and biological outcomes.
About the speaker
Alex de Giorgio did a PhD in cancer genetics, then joined BenevolentAI. Starting there as a biologist, he became more interested in the technical challenges of predicting biological outcomes.
This year, he left and co-founded a company, Sable Bio, aiming to build a platform to help biopharma scientists predict safety outcomes on their drug discovery projects.
