The Guild of St Bride Bursary is an award offered to a postgraduate student studying for the MA Newspaper Journalism at City St George’s, University of London.
Background
Known for its long association with journalists and newspapers, St Bride’s, Fleet Street is one of the most famous churches in London.
The Guild of St Bride offers the bursary as a practical contribution to help encourage a new generation of committed journalists into the profession. It also helps to consolidate the links between St Bride’s and the journalistic community in Britain and throughout the world.
Value
The Guild of St Bride Bursary is an award of £4,300 for 2026/27.
Eligibility
The bursary is open to applicants of all faith backgrounds (and none) who are resident in the UK and classified as paying UK tuition fees.
You must have accepted the offer of a place on the MA Journalism before applying for the bursary.
Every award is made with consideration given to candidates’:
- Journalistic potential
- Their academic merit
- Financial need
- Overall quality of each application.
