This targeted and accessible enhanced Fund is provided by City St George's, University of London to meet the needs of our newly combined student community - targeting those on the lowest incomes and those who face the greatest barriers to engaging fully with their university education. The fund can be used to help cover the cost of course materials and/or travelling to campus.
Eligibility criteria
- Ordinarily resident in England;
- New full-time enrolled entrant to City St George’s starting their first year in 2026-2027 of an undergraduate degree course: BA, BEng, BSc, MBBS, MEng*, MOptom*, MSci*;
- Eligible for student finance through Student Finance England;
- Household income equal to or less than £20,000 as assessed by Student Finance England (SFE) by 31 May 2027.
*Undergraduate route only
Value
£600 grant per academic year for the full duration of the undergraduate degree course.
How to apply
Follow the below steps:
- Apply for Student Finance through Student Finance England (SFE);
- Provide your household income to Student Finance England;
- Both you and your sponsors/parents/partner/guardians must give consent to share your household income with City St George's, University of London. Your consent must be activated on your Student Finance England account before/on 31 May 2027. For any queries on giving your consent please contact Student Finance England directly on 0300 100 0607.
Notification and payment
When students’ household income data has been shared with City St Georges, University of London eligible students will receive confirmation of their grant on a monthly basis between November 2026 and May 2027 via their City St George's email address.
Eligible students will be paid the grant in three equal instalments as follows:
£200 on/around 18 November 2026
£200 on/around 27 January 2027
£200 on/around 14 April 2027
Students must remain eligible to retain the grant; enrolled full-time throughout the academic year and their household income as assessed by SFE remain equal to or less than £20,000 – please see the Study and Travel Fund Terms & Conditions 2026-2027 for full details.
