Korean Intermediate - Level 4 Course overview
The Korean Intermediate Level 4 course will take your skills to the next level - helping you speak more naturally, confidently and fluently in real-life situations.
By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident holding longer conversations, handling everyday scenarios in Korean, and engaging with the language in a more authentic and meaningful way.
Who is it for?
This course is ideal if you can already communicate confidently in everyday Korean at CEFR A2 level.

The intermediate Korean course includes 60 hours of online learning and is taught across three modules.

Assessment and certificates
You will receive a Certificate of Completion from City St George’s, University of London, along with a digital badge for your LinkedIn profile.
To qualify, you must attend at least 70% of classes.

Eligibility
Eligibility
It is the right level if you:
- have completed our Korean Lower Intermediate Level 3, or equivalent course elsewhere
- can communicate at A2 level, according to the Common European Framework of languages
- have studied Korean formally for around 180 hours.
You should already know how to:
- Make, accept and decline suggestions
- Buy and exchange items
- Express wishes
- Express sympathy
- Give information and enquire.

To enrol onto the Intermediate Korean course, you must:
- be age 18 or over
- have basic IT skills and a reliable internet connection to access lessons and course materials.

Hannah Giles
Hannah Giles has been teaching Korean for over 20 years. She started teaching Korean and Linguistics in 1999 at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
She has also been teaching British diplomats at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since 2005 and worked as a principal examiner for IGCSE First Language Korean until 2021. She also serves as Secretary for the British Korean Society.
Hannah read Linguistics at SOAS and graduated with BA First Class Honours. She was awarded a scholarship by SOAS to continue her PhD in Linguistics until 2004.
She specialises in Korean language and culture training, applying linguistic theories to practical language teaching, as well as designing Korean courses, exams and setting course syllabi.
