Korean Intermediate - Level 4 Course overview
The Korean Intermediate Level 4 course will take your skills to the next level - helping you speak more naturally, confidently and fluently in real-life situations.
By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident holding longer conversations, handling everyday scenarios in Korean, and engaging with the language in a more authentic and meaningful way.
Who is it for?
This course is ideal if you can already communicate confidently in everyday Korean at CEFR A2 level.

The intermediate Korean course includes 60 hours of online learning and is taught across three modules.

- Reading, writing and talking about taste and preferences
- Describing people’s appearance and personality
- Talking about mistakes, manners and social etiquette
- Explaining problems and difficult situations
- Describing and reporting lost items

Grammatical structures
- The Intimate Speech Style (반말)
- The Plain Speech Style A-다, V-ㄴ다/는다
- Contrastive and background connective A-(으)ㄴ데, V-는데, ‘but/and’
- Comparative particle N처럼/같이 ‘like/as’
- ㅅ irregular verb conjugation
- ㅎ irregular adjectives
Assessment and certificates
You will receive a Certificate of Completion from City St George’s, University of London, along with a digital badge for your LinkedIn profile.
To qualify, you must attend at least 70% of classes.
Teaching
Classes are highly interactive and include:

You’ll also explore Korean culture, current affairs and traditions alongside language learning.
Eligibility
Eligibility
It is the right level if you:
- have completed our Korean Lower Intermediate Level 3, or equivalent course elsewhere
- can communicate at A2 level, according to the Common European Framework of languages
- have studied Korean formally for around 180 hours.
You should already know how to:
- Make, accept and decline suggestions
- Buy and exchange items
- Express wishes
- Express sympathy
- Give information and enquire.

To enrol onto the Intermediate Korean course, you must:
- be age 18 or over
- have basic IT skills and a reliable internet connection to access lessons and course materials.
