Joint and Soft Tissue Injection Course

• briefly outline the general musculoskeletal anatomy
• demonstrate soft tissue assessment and be able to evaluate the need for intervention with injection therapy
• understand and discuss the indications and contraindications for injections
• identify safety techniques involved in injection administration including correct equipment and complications that may occur
• demonstrate safe and accurate injections in joints and soft tissues, using anatomical simulation models.

• current Registration with the relevant UK or equivalent professional body: HCPC or equivalent registration e.g., in case of doctors (GMC) and Nurses (NMC)
• current professional practice within an environment where musculoskeletal injection could be used.

In addition, learners will undertake DOPS assessment to comply with CSP guidance and NHS-England accreditation to undertake joint injections.
