Crime Writing Intensive Intermediate Course overview
An intensive four-day Summer School on writing page-turning crime fiction. This fast-track course is offered as the next level to the Crime and Thriller Writing 10-week programme.
Taught online, the course will go deeper into the elements of a successful book in this genre and push you to take your writing to the next level.
Via a range of new exercises and longer extracts, you will stretch the limits of your creative thinking, working on techniques that prompt ideas and help you to plot out an entire novel. You will also look more deeply into character and analyse how symbolism and imagery can help bring your work alive.
This highly practical Summer School will help you stand out in a competitive market. It is suitable for those who have already taken the ten-week Crime and Thriller Writing class at City St George's, regardless of whether they have a current work in progress. It is also open to anyone who has some experience of working in this genre and may have taken other writing courses.
After this course, students might also be interested in Short Story Writing, Novel Writing and Longer Works, and Writers' Workshop.
Who is it for?
