The University has been ranked 14th for graduate prospects and in the top 50 universities in the UK

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 has ranked City St George’s, University of London as the 14th best university in the UK for graduate prospects as well as the 48th best university overall.
The ranking for graduate prospects – reflecting the University’s focus on business, practice and the professions – is an improvement of some 31 places on 2025* and is a key factor behind the improvement in our overall ranking.
City, University of London formally merged with St George’s, University of London last year, creating City St George’s, University of London, a powerful multi-faculty institution with a distinctive focus on professional education and research at the frontier of practice. This year’s table represents the first time the combined University has been listed as a single institution.
The University has increased its position in this year’s ranking by one place to 48th in the UK and 7th in London.
Among the subject rankings, the University improved in nine subject areas, including notably in Music, which climbed 11 places to 8th nationally.
Other notable subject successes include:
- Drama, dance and cinematics - 4th
- Accounting & Finance – 6th
- Communication and Media Studies – 8th
- Business, Management and Marketing – 14th
- Subjects Allied to Medicine – 12th
- Criminology – 18th
The 2026 edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide features in-depth profiles of 130 UK universities, highlighting everything from academic reputation and campus amenities to financial support and social life. Rankings draw on the latest data, assessing teaching satisfaction, student experience, graduation rates, and career outcomes.
City St George’s has increased its rank in another league table released to mark the start of the academic year, too, with the University placing 26th overall in the Daily Mail University Guide 2026 and in the top ten for graduate salaries and high-skilled jobs.
The Guide’s profile of City St George’s also reveals that 53.4% of our undergraduate students as the first generation of their families to attend university, and that 77.8% of our students go on to achieve a First or 2.1 level degree.
