Made at City: 50 Years of Electroacoustic Music Created at City St George's

A concert celebrating works by alumni composer and sound artist researchers working at City St George's University since the foundation of the electroacoustic music studio in 1975. The event is curated by Simon Emmerson, who led the studio from its inception for nearly 30 years, alongside current staff member, alumnus and composer Erik Nyström.

The technology has changed beyond recognition, and while the works featured in this evening's performance display a great range of expressive aims, ideas, soundworlds and soundscapes, the uniting thread is their challenging quality and originality.

Performed on City St George’s state-of-the-art SPARC Lab spatial sound system, the concert is both a showcase and history of some of City’s many creative and innovative composers over the past 50 years.
