“Surviving a Crisis” Sir David Omand. During his long career in British government service, David has held senior posts in security, intelligence and defence. He was Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet Office and UK Security and Intelligence Coordinator. He served for seven years on the UK Joint Intelligence Committee. He was Permanent Secretary of the Home Office from 1997 to 2000, and before that Director of GCHQ.
