What makes Research Degrees special?
Our research degrees span science, engineering, business, social sciences and the arts (MPhil/ PhD, MD/Res). We offer expert supervision throughout your programme and funding to attend conferences and professional development activities. In addition, our Graduate Teaching Assistant programme helps you develop your teaching skills and financially assists you throughout your postgraduate research.
Who is the course for?
This is suited for clinicians, recent grads, public-health or industry professionals who wants the research skills to study and improve health. Who is the presenter?
Dr Hooper is currently a Reader in Global Health Ethics and Law at City St George's, University of London. He is the Associate Dean (Postgraduate Taught Studies and Continuing Professional Development) at the School of Health and Medical Sciences in 2025 and the academic co-lead for the MRC funded Doctoral Training Partnership MRC DTP LID between City St George's, University of London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Dr Mark is a Senior Lecturer in Immunology in the Institute of Infection and Immunity at City St George's. His role spans both teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has a research group investigating the role of immunotherapy in cancer. He heads the ICVI funded research group investigating the role of the gamma delta T cell in both cancer and infection and the manipulation of this cell type by mycobacteria. In addition, he is a Deputy Head of the Graduate School (research degrees) and Associate Dean of Postgraduate Research.
Attending the webinar
To attend the webinar, you will need an internet connection for the device you're using, ideally a computer or laptop to view the event, and speakers or headphones to listen in to the event. Attendees will be able to type in questions to submit during the event, but will not be able to share a webcam or speak to other attendees (so you won't need a webcam or a microphone).
