How did you develop an interest in Behavioural Economics and why did you choose to study it at Postgraduate level?
I have always been intrigued by how the mind works and the science behind how humans make decisions. When I started reading literature about behavioural economics, I knew that it was a field I wanted to study - given my interests and passions, so then I found City St George’s program!
Why did you choose to continue your studies at City St George’s, University of London?
I liked the well-roundedness of the Behavioural Economics MSc program. From modules, to guest speakers, to writing a dissertation, I knew that I would develop a variety of skills to better prepare me in the workforce. The welcoming nature of the City St George’s staff that I encountered when deciding where to continue my studies, also influenced my decision to study at City St George’s, University of London.
How are you finding the transition from Undergraduate to Postgraduate study?
Through office hours, study groups and with the help of teaching assistants, the transition has been pretty smooth! I know I have the support I need through all of the resources that are available to me as a student here at City St George’s.
How have you benefitted from the facilities at City St George’s?
The teaching has been great. The instructors are very knowledgeable and approachable. They are available to answer any clarifying questions I have about coursework and potential career fields.
I have benefitted from the Career services facilities by meeting with a Careers advisor for a career guidance appointment. The meeting was helpful because I created a project plan, detailing steps to take to gain employment upon completing my program.
Have you used City St George’s career service for support with paid work and your personal career development?
Yes, I have used City St George’s career service for support with paid work- I am a student ambassador. I have also used City St George’s career service in regards to personal career development through a career guidance appointment.
What are you planning to do upon graduation from City St George’s?
I plan on going back to the USA, specifically the Washington DC area for work. I am interested in working in the field of marketing or talent management using the transferable skills I will have gained from my MSc.
