What made you want to study in London?

I chose to study in London because of the city’s excitement, vibrancy, and international culture.

What has been the most exciting or surprising thing about studying/living in the UK so far?

The most surprising aspect of living in the UK is how everyone continues about their day no matter how bad the weather is. An inkling of rain in California shuts the whole state down, but the UK just trudges on.

How did you find adjusting to life in the UK, both with your studies and socially? Was anything challenging?

I had a wonderful time adjusting to life in the UK. Wandering through the city helped me fully immerse myself. Transitioning back into academic life was a bit challenging after being out of school for a few years, but I’ve enjoyed the process along the way.

Why did you choose to study at City St George’s? What was the application process like for you?

I chose to study at City St George’s because the programmes and support offered by the university aligned with what I was looking to get out of pursuing a Master’s. The programme was exactly what I was looking for, and I felt supported throughout the entire application process. It was very straightforward.

How did you make friends when you first arrived at City St George’s? Was it easy or hard?

I was able to build relationships with others in my programme. We bonded right away and have been able to support each other in our studies. I also found it easy to make friends by joining clubs and other extracurricular activities. Everyone is lovely and seems to be seeking similar friendships.

What’s your favourite part about studying at City St George’s as an international student?

As an international student, I love getting to connect with others from all over the world who I never would have met if I hadn’t come here to study. City St. George’s prides itself on supporting its international students, and they do an excellent job.

Have you faced any challenges at City St George’s, either with your studies or personally? How did you overcome them?

At the end of the first term, I got sick, which made it difficult to fulfil my assessments. The course office for my programme and the university’s support staff really helped me get back on track. They made me feel prioritised and taken care of while I regained my health.

What advice would you give to other international students thinking about studying at City St George’s?

I would suggest other international students reach out to the programmes they are considering. City St George’s offers virtual informational sessions that international students can join to learn more about the programmes and the university from instructors and current or recent graduates. I found these to be helpful when deciding between my choice of schools.

What are your plans after graduation? Do you want to stay in the UK, go back home, or explore other options?

As much as I would love to stay in the UK, I miss my family back in the States. I intend to take all that I have learned and experienced at City St George’s and apply it to my life and career there.
