Why did you decide to apply to study at City St George's?

City St George's not only stood out to me as one of the most diverse universities in London, but also for academic excellence and great job prospects in the future. Having just joined the University of London, I recognised City St George's will hold many more opportunities. City St George's has relatively smaller lecture/class sizes, therefore I realised I would be able to have a better relationship with lecturers.

What were the most important resources for you in helping you to make a decision?

I visited City St George's on Applicant Day. I was able to speak to current students and staff, which really helped me make a decision as everyone was so friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable as all the students and staff had answers to my questions.

What is your favourite thing about studying at City St George's?

My favourite thing about studying at City St George's is the location. City St George's is located in central London and hence there are places to eat, socialise and study all within a reasonable distance.

What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?

I am currently a Student Ambassador for the Department of Mathematics. I also was a part of the Cricket squad and City St George’s Isoc Football Team which won the league last year. I am also a member of Pakistan Society and have attended society events.

Have you had the opportunity to do any internships or work experience during your course?

City St George's has a very supportive Careers Service who are there to help you with anything, from CVs and cover letters to interview preparation. I was extremely fortunate and was able to gain a summer internship in my first year.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

I hope to either work in Banking, Finance or Consultancy or go on to do a Master’s in Financial Mathematics.

What would be your top tip for our applicants?

Ask as many questions as you can and make sure everything is clear. You will be spending a minimum of 3 years at university so it is best to know what you're getting yourself into.
