Ellie Ajao

A freelance musician, broadcaster and author, Ellie is passionate about making classical music accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Ellie started the podcast ‘Down with the Patri-Bachy’ in 2021, featuring under-represented composers. Named as one of ReelWorld Radio Academy’s ‘30 under 30’ for reaching younger and diverse audiences in classical music, Ellie joined marketing and communications for the BBC Proms in 2023.

As a Podcaster in Residence, Ellie will work on two podcasts: A Musician’s Tale, a narrative podcast telling stories to accompany some of history’s best classical music; and Culture Club, where familiar figures discuss the art and culture that shaped their lives.
