Sevinj Teymurova

Overview

Sevinj Teymurova is a PhD researcher in Computer Science at City St George’s, University of London, based at the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre, under the supervision of Dr Ernesto Jimenez-Ruiz and Dr Tillman Weyde. Her doctoral research " Ontology Alignment Using Graph AI" focuses on Graph AI, ontology alignment, knowledge graphs, and ontology embeddings.

As part of her PhD research, Sevinj developed OWL2Vec4OA, an alignment-aware ontology embedding approach specifically designed for ontology alignment. The method incorporates information from existing mappings into confidence-aware graph-based random walks, enabling embeddings to capture both the structural characteristics of an ontology and information relevant to potential alignments. Her research further investigates the combination of symbolic and semantic information through ontology embeddings and contextual and linguistic representations, including Sentence-BERT and Word2Vec. She also applies machine learning techniques, including classification and regression, to predict and rank potential ontology alignments. 

Before focusing on her PhD research, Sevinj gained industry experience across machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and software engineering. She has worked in areas including mobile application development, autonomous vehicles, working with LiDAR, radar, and camera data, as well as real-estate technology, where she developed computer vision and image-processing solutions for augmented-reality applications.
