About
Overview
Raghav Malhotra is a microeconomist who tries to understand the empirical consequences of economic models and theory. He also has working interests in labor and public economics. In the main body of his work, he tries to understand how economic fundamentals can be recovered from observable data and then used to make counterfactual claims about welfare measurements.
His work in public finance introduces a new fiscal instrument that governments can use for redistribution and then tries to understand when using it is optimal. In his work in labor economics, he studes large economies where individuals make human capital decisions. In this research, he tries to understand how aggregate variables changing over time affect and distort human capital choices made by individuals.
