Overview
Dr. Patrick Oyibo has his educational background in Medicine and Surgery, with postgraduate qualifications in Epidemiology, Healthcare Management, and Public Health.
He joined City St George’s, University of London, as a Lecturer in Public Health in September 2022. Before this, he was a Lecturer in Preventative Health and Equity at Bangor University, North Wales, UK, and a Senior Lecturer in Community Medicine and Public Health at Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria.
Dr. Patrick has held various roles in the health sector, including working as Consultant Public Health Physician, Coordinator for Postgraduate Medical Residency Training, Project Coordinator for HIV/AIDS Control, and Focal Person for TB Control at Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Nigeria.
His primary research interests focus on public health policy and management systems for disease control programs and health interventions, health financing, and public health inequalities and inequities in sub-Saharan Africa.
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (Faculty of Community Health), where he has served as an examiner for Postgraduate Medical Membership and Fellowship examinations in Community Health, as well as an educational supervisor for doctors undertaking postgraduate medical training to become Public Health specialists. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
