BTIIC-12: Secure Real-time Communications over 5G
Involvement in BT Ireland Innovation Centre (BTIIC) and contributing to a “Secure Real-time Communications over 5G” project. The project I have worked on for over three years includes five members from Ulster University and three members from BT. As a team member, I have pledged to the team and consider the team to help me do my part well. I believe being open to suggestions, trying to understand every person’s perspective, being honest in presenting work (clearly mentioning possible solutions, problems, and results), being responsible for the whole project and my part and meeting deadlines and requirements are key factors that I have considered. In addition, conducting the PhD work as cutting-edge research in Cyber Security proposing a novel AI-based cyber-attack detection Approach in communication networks.
Optimal Vehicle Navigation in Urban Environments
I have Experience in securing and undertaking externally funded research. I have been a principal contributor to the provincial research project entitled “Optimal Vehicle Navigation in Urban Environments, using Vehicular Adhoc Networks” at Kurdistan University in 2015. I lead the research presenting a scheme for vehicle navigation based on up-to-date road traffic status in city environments so that vehicles can find the shortest route toward their destination. Overall, the proposed scheme includes five parts: First, an Algorithm for RSU placement in each city environment is proposed. Second, directional antennas are set to indicate the street at which vehicles are located. Third, Each RSU obtains the traffic weight (volume) of all streets and its coverage. Fourth, traffic weights are exchanged among all RSUs and generate a consistent weight database. Fifth, an algorithm based on which vehicles are navigated takes advantage of the above-mentioned weight database.
