About
Overview
Dr. Khader studied Mechanical Engineering at Birzeit University, Palestine. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in 2010 when he start working there as a teaching assistant. In 2013 he moved to City, University of London to start his PhD which was sponsored by the European Commission funded Project OMSoP “Optimised Microturbine Solar Power System “. Within his PhD, he focused on developing an accurate method for predicting radial turbomachinery performance, and improving radial turbines performance using passive control end wall features. Dr Khader was a member of a team who developed and tested a 6kWe gas turbine which was integrated to a solar dish system. In 2017 he was granted his PhD in Mechanical Engineering and started working as a post-doctoral research associate at City, University London for an EPSRC UK project called SolGATS “Concentrated Solar Power Micro Gas Turbine with Thermal Energy Storage”. In 2019 he started a new position as a research fellow working for an EU project called "Supercritical Carbon Dioxide/Alternative Fluids Blends for efficiency upgrade solar power plants (SCARABEUS)" His research interests lie in power generation, gas turbines development and flow control methods. His current research focuses on developing axial turbines working with supercritical carbon dioxide doped with different blends in order to improve solar power plant capital and operational costs.
