Overview
Leila is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Food Policy, City St George's University of London, working within the Healthy Weight Policy Research Unit. She is also an Accredited Practising Dietitian (Australia) and holds a doctorate in public health nutrition from the University of Queensland.
Her current research focuses on UK food policies that shape the food retail environment, including exploration of the large food retail and convenience store sectors, and the use of meal delivery apps. Her broader research interests include implementation science, public health nutrition, health promotion, and food policy.
Leila is an advocate for women in STEM and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
