About

Overview

Kasim, PhD, is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at City St George’s, University of London, specialising in health economics and quantitative methods, including epidemiology and modelling. He holds a PhD in Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an MSc in Health Economics from University College London, and a BSc in Engineering. His research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), particularly how socioeconomic, environmental, and spatial factors shape its transmission and burden, and how epidemiological, modelling, and health economic methods can inform surveillance, interventions, and policy. Before joining City St George’s, Kasim was a Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford and previously worked as a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He has also served as a consultant to Ministries of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
