Overview
Dr Indranil Nath is a Chartered Engineer and Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Engineering, with extensive expertise in software engineering, digital transformation, and applied artificial intelligence. His career integrates academic scholarship with senior industry leadership, enabling him to bridge theoretical innovation and large-scale enterprise implementation. He has led complex, cross-border technology portfolios in global organisations, delivering enterprise systems transformation and strategic information systems development across the financial services sector.
His research focuses on advancing methods and frameworks in software engineering and trustworthy AI. He investigates the modelling and reuse of software engineering knowledge in Software Release Re-Engineering, embedding structured design intelligence into evolutionary software development processes. His current research focuses on developing an emergent technology prioritisation model for effective risk transfer, evaluating how LLMs are influencing humans, strengthening human-in-the-loop mechanisms, and assessing and validating models. His work includes human-centred longitudinal validation of AI systems to assess social resilience, as well as the development of insider-threat-inspired safeguards for AI code generation.
Dr Nath serves on multiple boards as an independent Non-Executive Director. He was named one of the Top 100 Diverse Leaders in Tech by the US Technology Inclusion Council in 2021. He is a Fellow of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and the Institute of Directors (UK).
